Project Acceptance. The PFLAG youth support group. It meets every other Saturday at Mead's corner at 2 in the afternoon.
I have been going to this group, just to show support for the youth in our community. We have so many that don't know where to go. This is a start. Kids sit around and talk. Talk about what they want, what they hope, how school is going, what is was like coming out. All of those things that their straight friends get to talk about out in the open. A safe, caring environment. Non-judgemental, non-threatening. Safe space. A rarity these days. Hope to see you there.
Next meeting Sat. May 23rd, 2 p.m., Naftzinger Park. We are having a picnic. Hot dogs and hamburgers provided, bring a side dish. See you there.
